Protecting Fish- World Ocean Day- Collaboration with Ethic Ocean NGO

Today 58% of the fish population is exploited to the maximum of its capacity. In collaboration with Relais & Châteaux and the Ethic Ocean NGO, we try to use sustainable ways of fishing and cooking to protect the ocean. To communicate our efforts with our guests and raise awareness on the topic, we host the following events:

The Exquisite Fish Event

The Exquisite Fish Event took place on World Ocean’s Day which is 8th of June and has been recognized by UNESCO. For this event we had created a sustainable fish menu using sustainably farmed fish and wild fish from a healthy stock. The fish was cooked with a head to tail zero-waste technique to optimize the use of this valuable ingredient. Many international journalists attended the event together with our valued guests to discover more about the topic.

Fish Unknown Event

Marine resources are not infinite. Globally, we are overeating certain popular species of fish. Through this event we try to highlight and hero lesser known, sustainable species to sustain biodiversity and to inform our guests to positively impact the ocean and fish stock with their choices in their everyday life. In our Fish Unknown event we introduced mackerel, mussels, skipjack tuna, cockles and and gilt head sea bream together with some ways of cooking in our menu. To raise awareness we collaborated with other Relais & Châteaux properties to produce a video about the lesser known species that we love.
